A 2.7-inch LCD (also widescreen) lets you see exactly what your camcorder is recording, and what your TV will display later.If you don't have a widescreen television at home, don't worry; your widescreen videos will be displayed in letterbox format, just like your DVD movies. And to make your videos look even better in low light situations, the Elura features an integrated video light.
Impressive Still Pictures
The Elura 100 comes equipped with an SD memory card slot for storing still photos, allowing you to get amazing, megapixel stills whenever the notion strikes. In fact, the Elura 100 incorporates many of the same features found on Canon still cameras. Features like Progressive Photo Mode offer sharp detail, while special scene modes, and image effects let you get creative with your shots. You also get nine-point AiAF autofocus, and simultaneous photo recording for shooting stills and video at the same time, as well as auto exposure bracketing, and a motor drive mode for continuous shooting of fast action sports.
When you're ready to edit and share your photos, the Elura 100 has you covered. You can easily transfer images directly to your PC using the USB terminal, or print directly from your camcorder to any PictBridge-compatible printer.
Canon Optics and Image Processing

All that experience makes its way into the Elura 100's lens, which offers a powerful 20x optical zoom, Canon's longest zoom ever in a camera of this size. Meanwhile, a built-in, high-quality image stabilizer keeps your video steady, even when you're zoomed in without a tripod. If you really need to get close to the action from far away, there's a 800x digital zoom. When you're ready to take your creativity to the next level the Elura 100's lens is accepts optional lens accessories like a wide angle adapter.
The Elura 100 features Canon's Digic DV image processor, which allows the camera to deliver exceptional color and clarity. The Level Shot Control function keeps your compositions from looking crooked, and a horizontal marker and center indicator always keep you on track. Meanwhile, the Smooth Zoom Control function prevents jerky zooms for professional style zooming.
Easy to Operate
The Elura 100's easy-to-read menu system makes it easy to control the camera's functions. A handy joystick lets you easily operate playback, focus, exposure and menu options with the same controller. The camcorder also comes with a variety of features that make it easy to share your video, including an IEEE-1394 DV terminal (also known as Firewire) for transferring video to your computer (PC or Mac) for editing, as well as a composite cable for playing your footage on your TV. You can even share old videos by using the analog line-in/converter to transfer your memories from analog format to digital. The Elura 100's motion JPEG mode lets you record movie clips directly to your camcorder's memory card for posting online or e-mailing to family and friends. Lastly, the Elura 100 comes with a wireless remote control so you can operate it from afar.
